INSTALLATION

AN IMPRESSIONISTIC JOURNEY THROUGH DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY VOICED BY THOSE WHO CALL IT HOME

Mark Lyken & Emma Dove were artists-in-residence with public art organisation The Stove Network for 6 months, exploring people’s movements to and from Dumfries & Galloway in the South West of Scotland.

Using a Black Cab as a travelling studio, they interviewed the people they encountered about their memories, connections and relationships with the region, then sought out and filmed the personal and valued places that arose in conversation.

HAME extends over 2 rooms with film, voice, field recording and subtle music interacting in different ways depending on movement through the varying spaces of the installation.
